"Through Him, all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made." John 1:3

Imagine you were visiting a foreign land, and stepped into a hotel room. It looked comfortable and somehow familiar. The reading light on the writing table was turned low as you would have it. The curtains in the room were of the same pattern and design as yours back home. The TV was tuned to your favourite BBC channel, with a black sofa chair, just like yours,   placed just ten feet away from it (just as you had always insisted back home). The fridge at the corner of the room was well stocked with cans of coke, coffee of your brand and your favourite cookies. Someone knew you were coming and had prepared beforehand!

Our universe as we know it did not come about by random chance. A myriad of physical and other parameters were so finely-tuned to bring it about that we have to conclude that Someone was purposefully preparing for humankind to call this earth home.

In his recently published book   There is a God:   How the world's most notorious Atheist changed his mind , the most notorious British philosopher, atheist Anthony Flew gave an account of his 'conversion' to 'Theism'. Anthony Flew became notorious as an atheist on the launch of his paper Theology and Fabrication back in the 1950s, but in his latest book, he gives several reasons for turning his back on the so-called 'new Atheism' which he had helped promote for the past 60 years.

For one, he concluded that conditions in our Universe were too finely tuned for Man's existence for this to be pure random chance. Instead, he agreed with others that the Universe gives us a glimpse of the Mind of the Creator God who brought it about.

But, more than that, as we celebrate Christmas our hearts not only go out in adoration and worship for such a Creator God , but also for   a Personal God who has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ.

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth"   John 1:14 .

And most importantly, He knows us and cares for each one of us. And in return, He wants us to know and love Him.

Until we do so Jesus says to us:

"My Father is always working to this very day, and I too, am working" John 15:17 .

What a loving and personal God who loves all that He has created!

He loves me, even me!
